First time reader/commenter here--*I love those quilts!*....especially because of the story. My husband retired in the spring of 08, after 25 yrs in the Army. He did two tours in Afghanistan, two in Iraq, a year in Korea, 6 mos in the Sinai...my children got used to daddy being gone (he was gone most of the time since we had our oldest dc in spring of 00). Oh Vanessa, this is the very best kind of quilt! How much love and meaning went into them and your sons will have them for many years to come. :o) I have been clipping and cutting away (in the evenings) my son and my husband&#39;s older dress shirts (and saving all their buttons). I had intended to make a pinwheel quilt from them, but I would rather just stay with the squares, like yours!<br
