omg you gave me the much required smile and giggle i needed today :) I've chuckled so much lol I'm obsessive over the tree and we had our first real one last year and it took me two hours to hack it to the shape i wanted lol

I was going to suggest (as several others already have) that you should put up two trees. The perfectly shaped artificial tree with your white lights and matching ornaments will be for you; and the scary thing in the pictures can be for your kids. That's my plan once my son is old enough to notice his ornaments aren't on "my" tree. : )
