a couple of small before and afters

my latest little finds at the second hand store:this was on sale from i think $1 down to .25 cents.
a wire wreath thingy that i think is used for christmas cards. now that would be fine if it were close to christmas, but it's not so....
add some spray paint and some brainstorming and now i have a perfect place to hang my patterns in one place.

this little guy cost me .25 cents.
ugly yes...but with some spray paint...

not so bad and ugly anymore.

hope that all you guys made it over to my new url.
i'd be sad if i lost some of you guys.
edited:okay so i underestimated google reader (that was dumb) and i guess they re-directed everything for everyone of you 997 people but have already gained 7 new people on the other url...YAY! all is well in the google world. (those people must be rich)
seriously, i mean my boys thanks you for keeping me from mauling them as they come home from school to show them the new skirt i made. and the husband thanks you because that means i don't keep asking him questions like "does this look good on me." or "do you like how i did that?" no, no...that's what you guys are for.
well that, and to back me up when he calls me crazy for putting up baskets on the wall.
so thanks.

Actually, Google Reader did move me automatically. I didn't have to update anything so way to go!

great redos!!!

i've been wanting to change my url because it's been bugging me, but i didn't think it would transition smoothly for my readers.
i'll have to see how it goes for you.
i hate having "blogspot" in my url.

Hi, I was just wondering, what kind of spray paint do you use? I've got some wicker furniture and also a headboard that I need to spray paint, but I don't know which is the best kind to use...

thanks!

I'm soo jealous! I wish I was even half as creative as you! To be able to see something and see it's hidden potential... Such a gift. You're an inspiration to me and I love all the cute ideas you have for decorating and sewing.

I Love Paint!

and you are so right about the blogging buddies being good sounding boards. I know I've arrived when my husband comments on something.

*Sigh of happiness* I love The Google. The Google is the best. :)

I also love your blog, but I was having a moment of contentment with my Google Reader, for continuously keeping me in the loop for all of my fav blogs. I love the pattern hanger. Great idea to have them readily available... :)

I love your little redo's. Spray paint is so wonderful.

I typed in your old url and it said something weird, so I went to my button on my blog and found you. Whew! I thought I had lost you!

There you go, making me run for the spray paint again! But I love you for it! And I see Amanda is just about me on my comment... she's another little spray paint vixen that has me running for paint.

Your new url is updated on my blogroll, and I guess Google Reader is taking care of it since it lead me to the right place! Congrats on your own domain - I feel like we should throw you a house warming party. :o)

Now, that is some fabulous re-doing!! Love it!! I, too, have spray painted a bird, but sadly, it was a dollar and not a quarter!!

YOU are an absolute master with that white spray paint! Love the pattern holder thingy... and now I know what to do with the little glass cloche I have (except I don't have a cute little bird to paint white and put in there).

V, I absolutely love the way that you transform your treasures! I love to do that as well! Have a great week.

Fantastic ideas! I really need to start do stuff like that, my house is in desperate need of decor!

girlsmama said...

Wow! Your own URL. I love how this has taken off for you! Are you going to keep your family one up privately?

Aubrey said...

Hey--you wouldn't happen to have tips on how to move our URL would you? I really want one that doesn't have our last name in it because I was not so wise when I made it.

As always, all your stuff is so cute--I've just been a bad blogger/commenter lately. I wish I had your knack for staging pictures. I tell you, I suck. How 'bout a tutorial for that? I love your Sound of Music skirt. ;)

I love the bird! Awesome transformation:) looks very pretty

I just recently found your blog and LOVE all of your great ideas. When I saw your "bird transformation" I thought to myself "I'll have to watch for a bird like that whenever I go to the thrift store". I was so excited to find one today - it's almost exactly like yours (only mine was much more expensive than yours at a whopping .50 cents) I'm so excited to copy your idea. :D

I also love the idea you had to frame fabric in embroidery hoops and hang on the wall. I was also able to find some old embroidery hoopes at DI today for only .50 cents. Thanks for the great ideas!
